Visual & Media Capabilities
ChainRender's on-chain rendering goes far beyond text and buttons. A large, built library of fully on-chain visual and media capabilities is available — all Grade A (with a poster floor for GPU-enhanced ones), all generated on-chain as SVG. This page surveys what you can render.
Generative & procedural art
- Deterministic generative art — seed-driven, reproducible art generated entirely on-chain.
- Gradient identicons & gradients — designed identity visuals and color fields.
- High-fidelity vector art — smooth vector graphics (not blocky pixel art), on-chain.
2D/3D scenes
- SDF scenes — signed-distance-field scenes with a bit-exact on-chain poster floor and an optional GPU ray-march enhancement (fails closed to the poster — see The Floor).
- Point clouds — point-cloud scenes with an on-chain poster + optional GPU enhancement.
- Scene IR — a versioned scene format supporting motion, interaction, state/generativity, materials, and skeletal posing — the "organism that evolves" driven by TIME / INPUT / STATE.
Cartography
- Fully on-chain maps — a Real-Earth atlas stored on-chain (SSTORE2) and rendered as an SVG map with integer projection. Genuinely on-chain geography, not a tile fetch.
Rich media (p5.js & three.js)
Full p5.js sketches and three.js scenes run client-side as an enhancement over an on-chain floor — and the library itself is stored on-chain (content-addressed, hash-verified), not fetched from a CDN. Fails closed to the on-chain floor. See Rich Media: p5.js & three.js.
Motion & effects
- Declarative SVG animation — animation declared in the component, rendered as SVG.
- Effects library — a post-processing effect stack (CRT, glass, vignette, scanlines, grain) with SVG-filter floors, content-addressed and reusable.
Media & NFTs
- On-chain NFT media — reference-and-resolve on-chain images, suitable for
tokenURI. - Media provenance — provenance metadata carried through the render.
Data visualization
- Charts (line/area/bar/scatter/pie/donut), tables (paginated), progress bars (live-updating), route diagrams (any swap topology) — all on-chain, themeable, fail-closed.
The common guarantee
Every one of these is fully on-chain and Grade A. The GPU-enhanced ones (SDF, point clouds) always have a complete on-chain poster floor, so they never depend on a client GPU to work or to be trustworthy. Media never requires a CDN; art is generated, not fetched. See What's Fully On-Chain.
